  2. GOD Step 1 Everything begins with GOD. (Write over the word GOD.) God created the heavens and the earth. He is a powerful, personal and loving God.

  3. GOD/MAN LIFE Step 2 God created MAN, including you and me. (Write over the word MAN). He created man to have a permanent relationship with Him and to live with Him forever – to have eternal LIFE. (Trace over the long horizontal arrow and write over the word LIFE.)

  4. GOD / MAN LIFE MAN Step 3 God also created Man to have a free will to choose. Unfortunately Man chose to disobey Him. (Strike out the word MAN that is next to the word GOD and write over the word MAN at the base of diagram).

  5. GOD / MAN LIFE SIN MAN Step 4 This resulted in SIN. (Write over the word SIN). Sin is not just doing wrong things. Sin is a nature within us that chooses to do our own thing rather than what God wants us to do.

  6. GOD / MAN LIFE SIN MAN DEATH Step 5 Because of Sin, man is physically and spiritually separated from God, which is the opposite of life, or DEATH. (Trace the long horizontal arrow and write over the word DEATH).

  7. GOD / MAN LIFE SIN OTHERS CHURCH WORKS MAN DEATH Step 6 Yet, man has an inward desire to go back to God. (Write over the following words as you speak: Church, Good Works, Others). Man has tried his own ways to reach God – going to CHURCH; doing GOOD WORKS; and OTHER ways. But we cannot reach God through our own efforts.

  8. GOD / MAN LIFE SIN OTHERS CHURCH WORKS MAN DEATH Step 7 Because God loves us so much, He provided the only solution for man’s sin. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to earth to reach out to us. (Trace left side of cross starting from base and arrow down).

  9. GOD / MAN LIFE SIN OTHERS CHURCH WORKS MAN DEATH Step 8 Jesus did us the greatest favour ! He died on the cross for our sins. After 3 days, He was raised from the dead, showing that He has the power to overcome sin and death. (Trace right side of cross starting from base and arrow up).

  10. GOD / MAN LIFE SIN OTHERS CHURCH John 3:16 WORKS MAN DEATH My Name Your Name Step 9 We can summarize this using the Bible verse John 3:16. (Point to verse on top of diagram which reads: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”)Let me write my own name instead of MAN. Let’s also write your name below mine.

  11. GOD / MAN LIFE JESUS SIN John 3:16 RELIGION CHURCH WORKS MAN DEATH Step 10 (WRITE JESUS ON TOP OF THE WORD SIN ON THE CROSS). Jesus is the One who did us the greatest favour. He took away our sins when He died on the cross for us. You are at the ‘fork in the road’ that leads away from DEATH to LIFE. (Trace over the 2 arrows). As you choose to follow Christ, you’ll return to God today. Do you want to receive Jesus Christ into your life today?

GOD / MAN LIFE JESUS SIN John 3:16 RELIGION CHURCH WORKS MAN ) DEATH ) Step 11 If Yes, (point to “Prayer to Invite Jesus Into My Life” at the base of the diagram) read aloud this prayer with me. Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner. Thank You for taking my place on the Cross and dying for my sins. I need You as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and give me eternal life. From now on, I will put my faith in You only. Lord Jesus, please come into my life and be the Lord of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
