  2. Singular • Only one place • Use “es”: to say “is” • No letter “s” on the noun or adjective • Ex: El banco es grande.

  3. Plural • More than one place • Use “son” to say “are” • Must have the letter “s” on the noun and the adjective. • Ex: Los bancos son grandes.

  4. Masculine • Sentence starts with el, un, los, unos • Noun and Adjective usually end with the letter “o” • Ex: El supermercado es nuevo.

  5. Feminine • Sentence starts with la, una, las, unas • Noun and Adjective usually end with the letter “a” • Ex: La plaza es nueva.

Graded Assignment Practice • In order to prepare for our graded assignment next class period, we will work out the “kinks” today in class. • Take out your city map. • Write the following sentences based on your map: • 1 Singular Description • 1 Plural Description • 1 Singular Location • 1 Plural Location

Graded Assignment part I • Complete a paragraph in SPANISH describing your town in your city map. • You must include: • An opening and closing sentence (see Audubon’s model) • 5 Location Sentences • 5 Descriptions Sentences • Special Notes: • La biblioteca esta cerca del museo. (This equals 1 location sentence because it’s telling the location of the library) • One plural sentence will count as 2 towards the 5 needed. (Las bibliotecas estan cerca del museo).
