The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, India The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), is one of the premier astronomy and astrophysics research institutions in India located in Pune, India, is an autonomous institute established in December 1988 by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as part of the national objective to nucleate and boost teaching and research in astronomy and astrophysics within the university system. IUCAA has its many schedule programs such as the schools, workshops, and conferences in every year and we used to records on demand its importance lectures, symposium, scientific talks and public lectures to make e-archive for in-house users and remote users. Research and teaching at IUCAA span a wide range of fields. Important of Educational and Scientific Videos for Learning & Research Electronic Learning (eL) is an integral as part of traditional courses and modern smart classes and serves as the cornerstone of many blended courses. • The use of video can highlight various features of science that are outside the boundaries of general scientific reports, such as the daily realities of scientific research, its frustrations, and successes. Objectives of the Study The fundamental aim of the study is to give overview as the example of Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, library as example of the availability of scientific videos lectures and its usage. Present an overview of available scientific videos and its created open and restricted archive using are OSS software, proprietary software such Network Attached software (Thecus) and YouTube Channel at IUCAA, Pune, which has been delivered by IUCAA’s scientific community in different seminars, conferences, and classroom lectures. The need of Study • The topic of videos in teaching, learning, an communication is significant in the age of fastest growing ICT and E-resources. • Thus the role of video has increased multifold as it highlights how ICT can enhance the learning process especially using videos as a highly useful tool. • Recorded interactive scientific videos offer many exciting opportunities for supporting a wide range of student’s faculties and researchers to learn more effectively, as well as also created significant challenges for academic staff to rethink teaching methodologies for to develop interactive education and scientific videos NACLIN-2018, October 4-6, 2018, GITAM, Visakhapatnam

Access and Availability of Educational and Scientific Videos at IUCAA: • IUCAA has its many schedule programs such as the schools, workshops, and conferences in every year and we used to records on demand its importance lectures, symposium, scientific talks and public lectures to make e-archive for in-house users and remote users. Research and teaching at IUCAA span a wide range of fields. Speeches delivered by eminent faculty as well as senior professors visiting IUCAA are recorded to benefit students pursuing research in astronomy and astrophysics . • The recordings of lectures delivered by IUCAA faculty at other institutions are also available at the library. • To facilitate access to these lectures by the students, both on-campus and off-campus (via EZproxy), an effort to upload these videos to the”, via Open EyA and YouTube channel was taken up by the IUCAA library staff and counties to make its digital archive by using Network Assisted Server (NAS) with the help of streaming software “PLEX Media Server NACLIN-2018, October 4-6, 2018, GITAM, Visakhapatnam

It is an excellent low-cost solution for recording scientific talks in the academic and research community, especially for developing countries using open source tools. Videos Archive via Open EyA at IUCAA: • The IUCAA library initiated this action in the year 2010 by using video production tools such as Open-EyA are used for creating classroom and blackboard lecture videos in real time. Thecus is a Taiwanese multinational corporation that designs and markets Network-Attached Storage, Direct-attached storage, and Network Video Recorders. • Thecus is known for producing NAS and creates and develops its hardware, firmware, and accessory software. It focuses on software and hardware integration, installations and development, and the core protocols of digital media storage. • The result is products that are simple to use and can offer greater connectivity to consumer devices.   17. Suggestions and Recommendations… • The study indicates that ICT and e-learning offer opportunity to raise educational and research standards in all the organizations viz. Broad ranges of ICT tools are available for teaching and learning, closes the gap of “Digital Divide,” Involvement of teachers. Scientists, clinicians, students, research scholars, and parents are important. Suggestions and Recommendations • Use of Short video clips/ films containing prominent campus personalities, interactive maps and important landmarks and traditions can be the best way to introduce students and their families to available facilities in the campus. This is a great solution for learners/students, who are unable to visit in person. Keep videos brief and targeted on learning goals. • Use of audio and visual elements to convey appropriate parts of an explanation; make them available complementary rather than redundant. • Use signaling to highlight important ideas or concepts. Suggestions and Recommendations • Use a conversational, enthusiastic style to enhance engagement. • Embed videos in a context of active learning by using guiding questions, interactive elements, or associated homework assignments. • Educational organizations can gain great freedom by making use of videos to reach their broad users. They can be used to keep possible current and former students involved and engaged. • The videos can be used in a variety of ways in the educational setting, including viz. Discussions and Conclusions: • Based on findings of the present case study and review of the literature the study discusses many pros and cons of video in the process of e-L and recommends some critical point to improve the educational video-system further. • These available new technologies such as Open EyA and Thecus NAS server, Plex Media server are prevalent mainly in S&T and its user community. Its updates/new releases are readily available, robust, stable. Learning, using and implementing is also very simple. • There is also no need to employ a dedicated workforce during recording and post-recording. Every library and information science (LISc) professional is enthusiastic to know about the Internet technology, i.e., how to use it directly by acquiring necessary skills especially the Internet. • Hence, it can be concluded that implementation of these new technologies in various S&T organizations in India would be rewarding, as per its present applications and ICLs and LISc professionals have to play an important role. Discussions and Conclusions: • Its scientific lectures by supporting the Open Access Movement and encouraging other institutes to use such great technology for make available their institute scientific programs/talks on internet/intranet for full coverage in minimum cost involves deploying these open technologies. • The EyA was found to be an excellent low-cost solution for recording scientific talks in the academic community, especially for developing countries using open source tools. It is anticipated that this new technology will be beneficial not only for students and faculty member locally but also useful to those all, globally connected in the above archives. • OpenEyA is one of the most popular tools for scientific communication at the international level and grassroots, especially to those, who are involving in teaching, education, and research.
