  1. Health Insurance: A must element

  2. What is Health Insurance? A health insurance is a policy to safeguard you against any medical expense burden. It could be for an individual or for the entire family. It is calculated on parameters such as the age of the insurer, the requirement for a medical assistance etc.

  3. Who needs Health Insurance? Health insurance is something that is required by one and all, and it is always advisable to have some form of health insurance then having none of it. There are surely no drawbacks of owning a health insurance and it is always better to have a family health insurance plans.

  4. Let us look into some of the benefits of having health insurance. • Daily hospital cash allowance • Health policies do pay you for the expenses incurred from hospitalisation. But about the food and refreshments, or the travelling done to the hospital is also a form of expense. All of this is also taken care of under your policy in the daily hospital cash allowance clause.

  5. Alternate treatment • Certain policies also make about 25% reimbursement for treatments beyond any of the allopathic medications; such as Ayurveda, Unani etc. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) may soon probe it for all insurance policies and their providers.

  6. Treatment taken at Home • There is a very wrong impression about health insurances only liable to treatments conducted in hospitals. However these policies also cover for domiciliary treatments, that is for a treatment conducted at home itself on the doctor’s advice. It is majorly because the patient may not be in the situation to travel to the hospital.

  7. Thank You
