Life Members Activities • In Region 10, 732 Life Members (54% of total 1353 LMs) are affiliated with 5 existing LMAGs. • These LMAGs (New South Wales, Bombay, Tokyo, South Australia, Kansai, in forming order) are as a whole active enough. • Sections are encouraged to form LMAG. Victorian Section and Nagoya Section are very much interested in forming LMAG. • It is important to encourage elderly members to obtain Life Members Status in the future.
Project 3 : Encouraging elderly members to obtain Life Members Status in the future is very important. Key factors are: Enhanced publicity of IEEE LM Status, variety of attractive events offered by LMAGs and/or Sections (not only meetings, but also Newsletters, technical tours, museum tours, technical conferences with reduced fee, participation and support to Student Branch/ GOLD /WIE activities, etc.). Recognition of LM outstanding Affinity Group by the IEEE LMC seems to be very influential to the above activities. Its selection criteria have been reviewed recently with a participation of the R10 LM Coordinator.
