Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has said that bowlers play a key role when a Team wins in the longer format, and the current Indian team has a strong bowling unit and they should feel lucky to have a great depth as well. Team India is ready to face New Zealand in the inaugural World Test Championship final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton from June 18.

Gautam Gambhir Applauds The Bowling Depth Of Team India Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has said that bowlers play a key role when a Team wins in the longer format, and the current Indian team has a strong bowling unit and they should feel lucky to have a great depth as well. Image source by twitter Talking about these same, during Aaj Tak’s eSalaamCricket, Gautam Gambhir said, “I have always believed that it is bowlers who win you the Test matches. To win a Test match, you need to take 20 wickets, and I think the current Indian bowling line-up can trouble any team at any surface. The depth in Indian bowling attack is immense.” Former India opener again said that it is difficult to predict the favorite as of now considering their form, but he believes that New Zealand will have more advantage just because they have got the match practice ahead of the much-anticipated WTC final as well. Gautam Gambhir again stated, “It is difficult to predict the favorites in the one-off final. But I feel New Zealand will have a slight advantage because they have played two Test matches in England, and most importantly, they have won it. You can play as many intra-squad matches, but there is no substitute to match practice. As a result, new Zealand will be better prepared for the WTC final.”
