Avesh Khan Reveals How Ricky Ponting Helps Players In Their Improvement Delhi Capitals pacer Avesh Khan has been in the limelight ever since he performed impressively in the now-suspended 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. He finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets as well. In a recent Exclusive chat with Cricketnext, Khan applauded the efforts of the Head Coach of the Delhi Capitals – Ricky Ponting and added that the performances of the team had improved under his guidance. Image source by twitter It is also noteworthy that, Ricky Ponting was appointed Head Coach of the Delhi Capitals in 2018. While they finished at the bottom of the points table in his first year, he took the Capitals to the playoffs in 2019 and then the final last year in the UAE. Moreover, with six wins from 8 games, they were at the top of the points table in IPL 2021 before it was suspended due to the COVID-19. “Last two seasons we have been doing well, we qualified for the playoffs, played the final last season. Even during this season, we won six out of eight matches,” said Khan. Avesh Khan further added that Ponting always supported him and other youngsters in the team and inspired them to give their best as well.
