Our Vision for London 2012 • To empower you to harness the excitement of the Olympics and inspire a new generation of young people (in areas that need it most) to get physically active • To inspire and support young people from disadvantaged areas, by giving them some of the same sporting chances that you were once given • To help develop young people’s skills, and self-confidence, and enable them to find their own routes into long-term participation in sport • To provide you with the opportunity to be part of something special; helping to deliver London 2012’s social legacy aspirations • To provide genuine career and personal development opportunities for • you that will benefit them both now, and into the future Classified - Internal use

The Athlete Engagement Pathway:Connecting Athletes with StreetGames • We have developed a flexible programme that allows you to get • involved on number of levels no matter how busy you are, from a one off appearance at a StreetGames festival (requiring just 2 hours of your time) through to more on-going support of your local StreetGames project • With StreetGames projects across the country, the programme caters to yourindividual interests , availability and location • The programme is open to all athletes and their • support teams: from those just starting out; • to those that are competing • Internationally; and those retired • from competitive sports • You are provided with access to a • variety of media, bespoke training • and personal development • opportunities to help progress • your career. Practicalities • Those interested in finding out more should read the “StreetGames Athlete Engagement Detailed Information” document which provides athletes with: • Details of the various ways in which you can support StreetGames • Details of the range of benefits and personal & career development opportunities available • to you at each level of involvement • Dates, times, locations of StreetGames summer festivals (with prizes up for grabs for early sign ups) • Contact details of StreetGames & Coca-Cola programme coordinators (Adam Smith and Olivia Knight-Adams) so you can further explore possibilities & tailor to your own needs • Once you have made contact with StreetGames/Coca –Cola StreetGames coordinator and established your individual areas of interest, the first step is then for you to attend your local festivaland informally meet the local StreetGames workers, coachesand participants. • Whilst we anticipate that many athletes will be inspired by what they see at their local project and eager to get more involved, athletes will not be expected nor asked to commit any more of their time, unless they so wish. StreetGames are grateful for any level of involvement no matter how small. Classified - Internal use
