Classroom Management • In this presentation you will pick up some real world strategies for setting a classroom plan for success, effectively addressing those “emergency” situations that fall outside of the plan, and understand how collaborative planning with a team can make all of these components more effective.

  5. What Impression are you making? • Presentation and Preparation are KEY! • You are the teacher, it is YOUR classroom; No One Interrupts Your Flow!

  6. How do I sell snow to an eskimo? • They don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care? • Keep them busy, Keep them moving • Brainstorm, problem solve, incorporate movement….

  7. What does good instruction look like? • Academic Conversation • Academic Practice • Academic Discourse with the Teacher • Academic Movement

  8. The Need for discipline • Be Polished and Prepared • Does the behavior prevent teaching or learning? • Ask ACADEMIC Why’s, Not BEHAVIORAL Why’s

  9. The Need for Discipline • Plan for difficulties: Experienced Teachers know when curriculum is going to be challenging • Isolate problems to their source • Learn to identify the serious problems – Call Admin!
