  2. Childhood Derek was born on June 26th 1974 in Pequannock, New Jersey Derek played Basketball and Baseball When Derek was 6, he moved to Kalamazoo Michigan His dream was to become a Yankee

High School and College Derek went to Kalamazoo Central High School, where he won several awards Jeter was the 1992 High School Player of the Year Derek was the 1992 Gatorade Athlete of the Year After graduating High School, the New York Yankees drafted Derek in June of 1992 He Went to University of Michigan College He was 1993 Most Outstanding Prospect

  4. Minors In his first year of the Minor Leagues, He batted .295 with 5 home runs He did better next season Minor League Player of the Year In 1995 Yankees Shortstop hurt Got to play in the Majors!

Majors Derek’s Major League Debut was on May 29th 1995 vs. The Seattle Mariners In 1996, Derek became a full-time MLB Player In His First Year in The MLB, he battled .314 with 10 home-runs and his fielding percentage was .969 Derek helped the Yankees beat the Braves in the 1996 World Series Jeter won the 1996 Rookie of the Year Award Derek helped the Yankees win the World Series in 1998,1999, and 2000 Derek was the 2000 World Series MVP First Yankee opening day Rookie Shortstop since 1962 .313 career Post-Season Batting Average In 2001, Derek got a new Nickname. His nickname is “Mr. November” In 2003, Derek Jeter was named The Yankees Team Captain On September 11, 2009 Derek Jeter broke Lou Gehrig's Yankees' all-time hit record.
