  2. Directions • Place the following hypothetical homicides into one of three groups according to the seriousness of the crime. • 1 being the most serious and 3 the least • 1 will hold the most significant punishment, 2 the next greatest, and 3 the least

  3. Case #1 Anita Bath holds up a liquor store, aiming a hand gun at the cashier and demanding all the money in the cash register. Instead of handling over the money, the cashier grabs Bath. In the ensuing struggle, the gun goes off, killing the cashier. To what degree?

  4. Case #2 Dan D. Lyons is driving his automobile down the road at 60 mph. He is drunk and doesn’t slow down when he comes into a small town where the speed limit is 25 mph. He runs into an old lady who is crossing the street and she dies from the injuries. To what degree?

  5. Case #3 Ella Vader has had her farmhouse broken into several times by thieves. She goes on vacation and sets up a trap gun which will go off if anyone enters the backdoor. Hugh Morris breaks into the farmhouse, looking for antiques, and the gun goes off, killing him. To what degree..

  6. Case #4 Jay Walker decides to have some fun one night by dropping water balloons out of his fifth floor dormitory room window. He drops one balloon thinking that it will land just behind the girl walking down the sidewalk, but she suddenly stops and the balloon hits he in the head. She dies from a broken neck.   7. Case #5 Justin Case comes home one night and finds his wife with another man. In anger, he shoots and kills the other man. To what degree…

  8. Case #6 Lucy Fer is in a bar one night with her boyfriend, Bill, when Mike Stand starts making unfriendly remarks. Bill gets mad and tells Mike to get out.
