  2. 荷爾蒙在昆蟲發育上扮演十分重要的角色, 請依據2008年發表於Science的paper (如圖所示), 說明在加入JH analog後,對幼蟲pattern發育的影響。 JH在幼蟲體內的濃度 在第三次蛻皮後的約1天內直線下降, 這種變化導致幼蟲第四次蛻皮後變色 在第三次蛻皮後,塗抹JH analog,導致幼蟲第四次蛻皮後仍然是黑白相間之紋路。 JH的濃度,是調控此種幼蟲color switch的關鍵因子!

  3. JH濃度,影響幼蟲體內基因之表現 JH濃度高, 導致 specific cuticle proteins 調控瘤狀突起之結構, 並且抑制BBP表現 JH濃度低, 導致 Bilin binding protein 表現,呈現綠色。 而在背部出現的黑色斑紋, 是由於Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) 與dopa decarboxylase(DDC), 共同產生出melanin所導致
