HIMSS Strategic Direction Vision Advancing the best use of information and management systems for the betterment of health care.   Mission To lead change in the healthcare information and management systems field through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation, and community affiliations.     10. Advocacy Liaisons Organize visits and other avenues of frequent communication with state and federal elected officials. Speak to local media about key policy and advocacy issues. Attend HIMSS-sponsored advocacy training and message development sessions. Working with the HIMSS Chapter Advocacy Liaison Roundtable and/committee members to create an advocacy action plan specific to your community.

    15. Membership Categories National: $140 Chapter-Only: $30 (limited benefits) Full-Time Student: $30 (Evidence of full-time student status must be provided. Acceptable proof includes copy of class schedule or official letter from your institution. Student ID cards are not acceptable as proof of current student status)

    20. Elections – Student Liaison Develop and Maintain contact lists, administrators and local institutions. Provide quarterly updates of activities, opportunities for student involvement, and scholarship opportunities. Investigate member interest in mentorship program to increase value to student members.
