We all make a lot of waste especially at Christmas, when we have extra paper, cards and lots of packaging • We also waste a lot of food. 7 million tonnes of food and drink is thrown away every year in the UK (that weighs the same as 1,200,000 elephants !) • And more than half of this could have been eaten... • So what could we do to help?

  5. So how can we reduce our waste? • Wrap presents in different ways to reduce wrapping paper • Make sure you eat up all your food at meal times • Love your left overs! • Make your own Christmas cards and presents • Put your bin on a diet in the New Year by throwing less away! Click the bin to watch a video about wrapping presents with crisp packets!!

  6. How can we reuse? • Make your own Christmas decorations • Take bags with you when you go shopping so you don’t need a new ones • Make your own paper chains from old wrapping paper or wallpaper • Get your gifts from charity shops – great for bargains!
