  1. Foxgloves are very poisonous plants. The roots, the leaves, the flowers and the stems are all poisonous and eating them will make you very ill and can kill you.

  2. A chemical which is found in the leaves of foxgloves is used as a medicine. It is used to treat people with serious heart problems and has saved many lives.

  3. The chemical isolated from the foxglove (digoxin) is also used as a treatment to slow muscular dystrophy and to reduce pressure in the eye of glaucoma victims.
