  2. Man beaten in gay bashing clings to life • A 21 year old Santa Fe man was beaten in a gay bashing incident, and is in critical condition. • The doctors say he will be getting worse before he gets better. • At least 4 men beat him in a motel parking lot.

  3. A man from Albuquerque suffered minor injuries during the assault. • Police say that the attackers repeatedly called the two men “faggots”. • He was kicked so hard that the food in his stomach came up his throat and into his lungs. • The stomach acid severely burned his lungs, he now breaths with a respirator.

  4. He has been running a high fever and must be monitored closely • His face and mouth have been bruised and swollen. No one is able to see him. • No one has been seeing him because his lower lip is so mangled. • Doctors don’t know if he will suffer permanent damage. • His family is “traumatized” but they are loving and supporting him.

Gabriel Maturin,20, Isaia Medina, 19 and David Trinidad, 17, have been charged in connection with the beating and police say there was also men present during the violence District attorney Henry Valdez said Wednesday that the case will be presented soon to a grand jury, which might decide to charge one or more of the men that the police did not arrest The prosecutor has said longer sentences could be imposed in the case under a 2003 state law if a jury finds a hate crime occurred
