  2. Why is yogurt a SUPERFOOD? • It is a fermented milk product. Produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. • The bacteria used to make yogurt are known as "yogurt cultures". • It can be thin and runny, or thick and firm. • Yogurt will stay fresh longer than milk itself, and that contains millions of bacteria that are welcomed by the human gut.

  3. Why is yogurt a SUPERFOOD? • Contains Calcium, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. • contributes to colon health. • can decrease yeast infections • a rich source of calcium • lowers cholesterol.

History of yogurt : • Yogurt comes from a Turkish word meaning “to curdle or to thicken”. • The earliest yogurt was made by accident in Mesopotamia around 5,000 BC when milk producing animals were first domesticated. • Yogurt was a popular food in the middle east for thousands of years. • Also a staple of the eastern European diet.
