The Problem Bank Account
One man recently received a letter from his bank. They were notifying him that they were closing his life savings, an account worth 68,000 marks.
To compensate the owner, the bankers enclosed the smallest bill they had: a 1,000,000 mark note. The stamp on the envelope was worth 5,000,000 marks.
It was costing the bank more money to service the account than what was in it.
