What are helping verbs? • Sometimes the words has and have help other verbs to show past tense. • HAS and HAVE are called helping verbs. • Use the helping verb “has” with a singular noun in the subject and with he, she, or it. • Ex: Ann has played the game. She has enjoyed it. • Use the helping verb “have” with a plural noun in the subject and with I, you, we, or they. • Ex: They boys have helped her. I have watched.
