  1. One may or may not be aware of the numerous components that make up household plumbing systems. Supply lines and vent pipes are typically less well-known than drain pipes. The drain pipes in one’s home transport water and trash from one’s property to the nearby sewage system. Water or supply lines allow water to fill bathtubs, sinks, washing machines, and other fixtures inside one’s home. Plumbing vent pipes function with drain pipes, although they do not transport water. Their responsibility is to control the air in the plumbing system of the house. Vent stacks and plumbing air vents are other names for vent pipes. Many materials are available out of which the plumbing pipes and fittings are made. Copper is one of them. Let’s learn more about it. Copper piping is the industry standard for hard pipes and has a lifespan of more than 50 years. It is available in different grades of thickness and is divided into two categories: rigid and flexible copper pipes. It can sustain high water pressure. For water supply lines, stiff copper pipes are commonly utilised, while flexible copper pipes are employed in confined locations where the malleable copper can bend. Various benefits of copper pipes are- · Corrosion-resistance- Copper pipes can withstand high water pressure, extreme heat, and cold without corroding. · Environmentally friendly- Because copper can be recycled, your water pipes may be constructed of recycled materials or may eventually be repurposed for another purpose. It also comes with a few demerits- · Expensive- Copper piping is more expensive than some of its more well-liked substitutes, such as PEX or PVC. · Reduced flexibility- Plastic pipe is more practical in small locations where copper is less flexible and cannot be used. Thus, copper pipes have their own set of merits and demerits. However, nowadays the best material available is stainless steel. Stainless steel pipes sustain for the longest period and are flexible as compared to copper pipes. It is more durable and does not corrode in the water. There are many manufacturers in the market that offer pipe stainless steel to their customers. SS pipes are the ideal material that can be used in all households in all weathers.
