  1. Habakkuk 3:16-19 “Schooled in the Fear of the Lord” Part 6

  2. God may not change our circumstances, but He will change us in the midst of our circumstances.

  3. Habakkuk 1:2 How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen?

  4. Habakkuk 1:13 Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?

  5. Habakkuk 3:1-2 He begins to transform his life by the renewing of his mind.

  6. Psalm 10 “ “Why, O LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?”

  7. Psalm 10 “14 But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.  15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man; call him to account for his wickedness that would not be found out.”

  8. Psalm 10 16 The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land.  17 You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,  18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

  9. Habakkuk 2:4b …but the righteous will live by his faith.

  10. Ed Welch “Since Jesus’ death and resurrection, God is willing to jog your memory day after day. God, apparently, is happy to repeat himself. For some people, repetition becomes a been-there-done-that and they check out until there is something new.

  11. For the wise, however, remembering is essential to the human soul. It is part of that forsaken art of meditating. It is critical to the process of change!”

  12. Habakkuk 3:16 16 I heard and my heart pounded,        my lips quivered at the sound;        decay crept into my bones,        and my legs trembled.

  13. Exodus 15 1 "I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.

  14. Exodus 15 3 The LORD is a warrior;   the LORD is his name. 8 By the blast of your nostrils   the waters piled up.   The surging waters stood firm like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea.

  15. Exodus 15 10 But you blew with your breath,    and the sea covered them.    They sank like lead    in the mighty waters. 14 The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the people of Philistia.

  16. 15 The chiefs of Edom will be terrified, the leaders of Moab will be seized with trembling, the people of Canaan will melt away; 16 terror and dread will fall upon them. By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone— until your people pass by, O LORD, until the people you bought pass by.”

  17. Hebrews 12:18-21 18You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; 19to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,

  18. 20because they could not bear what was commanded: "If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned." 21The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, "I am trembling with fear."

  19. Revelation 1:12-16 12I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man,"dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.

  20. Revelation 1:12-16 14His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.

  21. Revelation 1:12-16 16In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

  22. Job 40:3-5 3 Then Job answered the LORD : 4 "I am unworthy—how can I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth. 5 I spoke once, but I have no answer— twice, but I will say no more."

  23. Job 42:1-6 1 Then Job replied to the LORD a second time :  2 "I know that you can do all things;    no plan of yours can be thwarted.  3 You asked, 'Who is this that obscures my counsel without knowledge?' Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.

  24. Job 42:1-6 4 "You said, 'Listen now, and I will speak;   I will question you,     and you shall answer me.'  5 My ears had heard of you    but now my eyes have seen you.  6 Therefore I despise myself     and repent in dust and ashes."

  25. Habakkuk 3:16b “Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us.”

  26. 1 Peter 2:22-23 22"He committed no sin,  and no deceit was found in his mouth.“ 23When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

  27. 2 Things Remembering Looking Forward

  28. Habakkuk 3:17-18 17 Though the fig tree does not bud        and there are no grapes on the vines,        though the olive crop fails        and the fields produce no food,        though there are no sheep in the pen        and no cattle in the stalls,  18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,        I will be joyful in God my Savior.
