  1. SPELLING Spelling Contracts are due on Fridays. Spelling Post Tests are administered on Fridays. Continue to check my website for an updated list of words and access to a Spelling Contract. Language Arts Students are currently working on a unit in Poetry. Students will study various types of poetry and create a culminating piece of poetry of their choice. Also, we are reviewing Language concepts in preparation for the upcoming CRCT in April. Look for ScootpadRdg/LA assignments, as well as study packets. READING We will read a story selection out of the Reading text for the next two weeks. Please check your child’s Reading folder for study guides to assist him or her in preparing for the tests each Friday. There will also be Rdg. Scootpad assignments for them to complete. MATH We are working on geometric concepts in Math. Student will continue to review point, ray, lines, symmetry, angles (measuring), as well as various types of shapes and figures. Continue to look for Scootpad Math assignments for review of these standards. Also, we will be phasing in the use of Khan Academy in Math. We will begin this as school, but home use is also encouraged. We will begin discussion of how the American Government was founded by the Founding Fathers. There will be a quiz each Friday on the concepts that were covered earlier in each week. The quiz on March 8 will be on vocabulary. There will be a Chapter test on Friday, March 15 on Chapter 9. Love and Logic Tip: Kids learn far more from the example we set than from the lectures we give.
