  2. Geography Located south of Vietnam, in South China sea, and borders Indonesia. Climate would be tropical with Monsoons in the northeast Natural hazards- landslides, forest fires, flooding
  3. General Info Ethnic groups- Malaysian 50.4%, Indigenous 11%, Chinese 23.7%, Indian 7.1%, others 7.8% Population- 28,728,607 Languages- English, Chinese, Thai, Tamil, Telugu, Panjabi, Manderin, and the official language is Bahasa Malaysia Religions- Muslim(official) 60.4%, Buddhist 19.2%, Christian 9.1%, Hindu 6.3%, Chinese religions 2.6%
  4. Health 80% of the population had access to an appropriate health care in 1993 Infant mortality rate- 18.35 per one thousand live births Life expectancy- males 71.1 females 76.7 5 bad disseases, 2 of the main ones are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and dengue fever
  5. Education State has education departments to take care of education in their territories, although it’s the A child must be enrolled in school for 9 years/grades 9 year olds get about 964 hours Of school/learning in one year. Average years of schooling for Adults is 6.8

Relations with U.S Good relationship, Obama and Najib the president of Malaysia net in 2010 and have been on good relations ever since “ America has not alsways chosen the path of engagement and listening with the rest of the world. But now, I believe with president Obama, the United States has regained its moral leadership in the world.”- Najib (president of Malaysia)
  7. Economics Industral output ranked 32 in world Manufacturing has big effect in economy as well as trade industrial is responsible for 48.1% of total GDP Natural resources include minerals , natural and agricultural resources Greatly involved in trade/ foreign exchange
  8. Government Parliamentary Democracy with constitutional monarch Yang di-petuanAgong is hedad of state Najib- President Legal system is based on English Common Law Political parties are ethnically based
  9. Sharia They have the sharia also known as syariah law , that mainly only applies to muslims, and plays small role throughout whole legal system Complications with this law have mainy been freedom of religion Syriah courts have authority in marriage, inheritance and apostasy the more personal law matters
