  1. Dental Lasers In Common Procedures

  2. Laser dentistry uses specialized dental lasers to complete innovative and routine dental procedures. Oral surgeons use these tools at varying wavelengths of output. Both wavelength and laser type are important "procedure specific" details that must be chosen correctly in order to assure safety and proper completion of the treatment.

  3. 1. Filling Procedures In dental fillings, tooth decay which remains in the mouth must be removed in order to complete the filling. Dental lasers are used for this part and other parts of the procedure; the shaping of the filling may require parts of the material to be shaved off or decimated by laser wavelengths which can do this job adequately. Common Uses in Laser Dentistry

  4. 2. Dental Implants Dental Implants are placed in the spaces where teeth are missing. These tools can be used in the process.

  5. 3. Periodontal Therapy In this procedure, such tools are used to help remove the decay and clear out the tissue which has resulted from infected gums and bone. Conditions like gingivitis and periodintitis can require surgical intervention. Each condition is related to inflammation and bacterial growth. While some may assign the cause of these conditions immediately to improper dental care, this is not always the case as other diseases of the body can induce inflammation in the mouth as well.

  6. 4. Biopsy In certain instances, tissue removal may be necessary. If the surgeon or dentist suspects the presence of cancer, removal of a lesion may be necessary. Other sores which are extremely discomforting to the patient may also require the help of laser dentistry and its' tools. A biopsy can be an important route to preventing the progression of cancer into later stages: harder to treat states. The value of early detection can be important.

  7. 5. Teeth whitening Bright smiles are the much sought after trait which has advertisers in various industries ready to offer solutions. From toothpaste, to mouthwash, to strips and other at home treatments, the marketplace has many offers to satisfy consumer needs. In this area, dental care is no different. Dental lasers can be used to whiten the surfaces of teeth in procedures which are faster than their counterparts. The laser energy and part-bleach solution interact together. Because the heat can boost the effects of the solution, this combination can be especially effective at speeding up the bleaching process.
