  1. This is a portrait of someone who lived a long time ago. Do you know who she was? She was Queen Victoria. When this portrait was painted she was still a young queen. Sample Slide People who were alive when Victoria was queen were known as the Victorians. Most Victorian families had five or more children. Children from rich families ate well, wore good clothes, had toys to play with and were looked after by nannies. Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show

  2. It was different for rich boys and girls. They were treated very differently. The girls were expected to grow up and get married so they were taught all the things they would need to be a good wife – to play the piano, sew, paint, sing, stand properly and speak nicely. Sample Slide When the girls grew up and married they didn’t go out to work or have to do any housework, instead they would have servants to look after them. Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show

  3. When Victoria became queen many children never went to school at all. Parents had to pay for their children to go to school, but some families were too poor to pay. Sample Slide Very poor children didn’t get chance to go to school. They were often left on their own at home while their parents went out to work and as soon as they were old enough they were sent out to work too. Random Slides From This PowerPoint Show
