Introduction • The purpose is to facilitate two-way communication and coordination between Research Administration and the McLean research community. • MRAC meetings are open to all McLean department-level administrators, staff, & PIs. • Input from MRAC will be relied upon to establish follow-up topics and priorities for research related training sessions and educational programs.     • Future agendas will include updates by Partners Research Finance, Partner's Compliance, Human Resources, Lab Safety, RIS, Library, Facilities, etc. McLEAN HOSPITAL

Research Administration Mission Research Administration serves and guides the McLean Research Community on all aspects of sponsored programs administration by: • providing pre and post award services; • providing stewardship of external sponsored funding; • providing training and education; • maintaining information systems pertinent to research administration and funding. NIH Update • Late Applications • Late applications will be accepted only when accompanied by a cover letter that details specific information and compelling reasons for the delay. • Unacceptable reasons are: teaching or administrative responsibilities, relocation of laboratory, non-severe health problems, personal events, review of activities for other Federal or private organizations, attendance at meetings. • No Cost Extensions • No Cost Extensions made to the parent grant or any of its subprojects will automatically extend all records associated with the grant. • Conversion to Electronic Submission • February 2009 will be the earliestfor conversion to electronic submission for: • Career Development (K), Fellowship (F), Training (T) Grants • All new Grants.gov format will be in Adobe format.
