  1. Congratulations! Welcome to your SENIOR PROM information session

  2. Expectations at Senior Prom The expectations of conduct outlined below are provided to ensure the well-being and enjoyment of all participants at this SDSS Senior Prom are:

  3. Although the S.D.S.S. Prom is not being held on school grounds, it is a school function, and therefore the rules and policies of the school and the York Region Board of Education apply at all times throughout this event. Students who disregard these rules and policies will face appropriate consequences at school (e.g. parent and police involvement along with suspension/expulsion where appropriate). Guests will be expected to conform to these expectations of conduct.

  4. School representatives will be attending this event as chaperones. Intercon Security officers and York Region Police officers will also be present at this event. Their directions are to be followed by all students.

  6. A search of bags, personal belongings, or person will be a condition of entry. Those students/guests not willing to undergo a search may be denied entry. Entry may be denied to any student if an attending chaperone or police officer deems that person unfit to enter. Anyone denied entry automatically forfeits his/her ticket fee.

  7. This event is a dry function. No alcohol is to be consumed during this entire event. Regardless of their age, students/guests who have been drinking will be denied entry and removed from the function. Anyone removed automatically forfeits his/her ticket fee.

  8. York Region Police and school administration will deal with incidents of drinking as well as incidents of substance abuse.

  9. A dress code will be in effect during this function. Students/guests who are not appropriately dressed will be asked to change. If they do not comply they will be denied entry and will automatically forfeit his/her ticket fee.

  10. There are NO exit and re-entry privileges. Students/guests who move beyond the designated areas of the function will not be granted re-entry. They will be expected to leave the property immediately, and automatically forfeit his/her ticket fee.

  11. Smokers Be Warned! • The Premier Ballroom is a smoke-free facility • All smoking must be done outside the premises

  16. The Reception • Entertainment for your listening pleasure • Appetizers • Open soft-drink bar • Get your photograph taken

  17. During the Reception… • During the reception, you are invited to have your picture taken with the photographer in the lobby. • Each guest is entitled to a framed 5 X 7 photograph • Additional photographs can be purchased: 4 X 6… $7.00 5 X 7… $10.00 8 X 10… $20.00 In a presentation folder

  18. Prom Tips • Do not pay your limo driver until the end of the evening/ride. This way you ensure that you will be picked up and on time! • Dinner will start at 7.30 pm at the latest. We will begin without you if you are not present.

  19. Selling your ticket • You do not need your prom ticket to get in to the Prom. • Your name on the guest list is the only way to enter. • If you wish to remove your name and add another, you must both see Mrs. Scott to make the change. • If your name is not on the list, you will not get in. • Please check the list to make sure your name is on it at prom table sign up.

  20. Table Sign-up • Starting today at lunch, you may sign up for a table in the gym foyer. • DO NOT add other people’s names to your table without discussing it with them first. • DO NOT remove anyone else’s name to make room for you and your friends. • If you do not sign up for a table, one will be assigned to you.

  21. Prom King and Queen • Nominations can be made this week at the table sign-up • Ballots to choose the Prom King and Queen 2008 will be available at lunch on Monday May 26th and 27th.

  23. Food allergies • If you need to order a vegetarian meal, please inform Mrs. Scott with your name and table number. • If you have any allergies and or will be carrying an EPIPEN or other medication to be taken, please inform Mrs. Scott.
