  2. Bill Atkinson Information • Born 1951 • Education- got his undergraduate degree at University of California, San Diego. Continued studies as graduate student at University of Washington • Work appears in Capture, Dostal Studio, The Ansel Adams Gallery, The Museum Works Gallery. Also has a book published called Within The Stone • Photography is of nature and Bill seeks out special light to reveal the landscapes beauty.

  3. Bill Atkinson Information • Early inspiration started when he was 10 after being given a subscription to “Arizona Highways” magazine. Took out several nature photographs and put them on his wall. These inspired him and he began experimenting with photography. • Extra facts- A member of the original Macintosh team at Apple computer. Helped design the original Mac interface and he wrote the original Quickdraw, Macpoint, and HyperCard programs.

  4. Sunset Cloud Shapes Photographed in Hawaii • The lighting used is natural coming from the sunset. • The main subject is the horizon. It is where the colorful horizon meets the detailed clouds. • The composition technique uses rules of third, lighting, and Horizon line which is shown here between the sky and the clouds. • The photo graph is showing the sunset and I picked it because of how cool the clouds look.

  5. The lighting used is natural appears to have been cloudy because I don’t see any shadows. The main subject is are the in focus white flowers and tree with the back ground out of focus. This uses selective focus and grouping to outline the flowers and tree but not the background. The photo is showing the flowers in bloom and I picked it because I like how the flowers are. Flowering DogwoodPhotographed in Bernheim Arboretum, Kentucky

  6. The lighting used is natural and the fog allows less light in the scene. The center of interest are all the tree’s because they stand out from the green. The middle more bent tree stands out the most of all the tree’s. The photo uses grouping, lighting, and leading lines to draw the eyes between the sky and ground. The photo shows the mist and I like it for that, the green, and how mysterious it is. Smoky Mountains MistPhotographed in the Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

  7. The lighting used is natural and this scene seems to be cloudy, there’s no shadows but there is light. The center of interest is the water in the middle of the photo. The water stands out from the green and is slightly blurred to show motion. The photo is using the water as a leading line that runs down the middle of the photo. The photo shows the water running and I like how the water looks. Morning CascadePhotographed in the Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

  8. Colorful Autumn HillsPhotographed in New England • The lighting used is natural and the • Sun seems to be straight ahead and • To the left, explaining the shadows on • The second hill. • The area of interest would be the first • Tree with the other hill seeming to be • In a fog. • This is using grouping and lighting to • Show off the first hill. • The photo shows the New England • Autumn and I like the colors and how • Vast the forest seems to be.
