  1. SCHOOL PRAYER Dear Jesus, bless our school. Bless everyone in it. Make it a happy place. Amen NEWSLETTER FRIDAY 18th JANUARY 2013 PANTOMIME SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION The whole school went to see the pantomime Aladdin last Thursday. Everyone enjoyed the performance and the Big Writing follow-up work has been a huge success. PLEASE NOTE We have booked a visit to next year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, on Thursday 9th January, 2014. Further information will be sent to you nearer the time. Liturgy 1 : Enrolment will be held at 11am on Sunday 20th January at St Michael’s Church. Session 1 of Preparation for Sacraments will be held in the school hall from 5pm – 6pm on Wednesday 23rd January. BEAMISH MUSEUM On Wednesday, as part of their topic on the Victorians, Year 5 went to Beamish Open Air Museum to take part in a school lesson with a Victorian schoolmaster. They also saw how Victorian people lived when they visited the houses and shops. EARINGS Can we remind parents that for reasons of Health and Safety children are not allowed to wear earrings in school. HEAD LICE Please check your child’s head regularly each week to prevent the spread of head lice in school. SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES The Governors wish me to make you aware that the LEGAL age for the use of social networking sites (including Facebook) is 13. This is to keep your child safe. P.E KITS Please remember that P.E. kits should be brought to school on Monday morning and left in school until Friday afternoon. This ensures the children will always have their kits for P.E. lessons, Year 4 go swimming on a Friday morning, if your child is in Year 4 please make sure they bring their swimming costume, towel etc., to school on Friday morning. SCHOOL CROSSING PATROL The School Crossing Patrol will now be located at the ‘toucan’ traffic light crossing. Would parents please ensure that the children cross at this point of Westmorland Road and not at the park gates. SCHOOL GATES The school gates are opened at 8.50. If you arrive early then an adult must stay with the children until school staff are available to supervise them. If you arrive after the bell has gone at 9am please bring your child to the School Office as other doors are closed promptly in order to safeguard the children in school. STATEMENT TO LIVE BY I listen to what you say, I show I am listening to you
