  • Call of the Harpy Eaglethe harpy eagle is a greek word it means harpe they were winged cretures with sharp claws and a female body although that was never proven .Harpyjais the scientific word for harpy eagle.


A bird of pray is a meat eating bird that catches its food by its feet. Birds of pray have sharp beaks and curved strong feet with sharp talons. Birds of pray sometimes eat other birds each bird of pray is different in there own special way. For instinct the golden eagle has a body length of 30-40 inches a wings span of 6 ½ to 7 ½ feet and weighs 7-13 pounds. A harpy eagle has a body length of 35-41 inches a 6 ½ wing span and weighs 10 to 20 pounds the female sometimes weighs twice as much .

Harpy eagles are highly maneuverable flyers and get there pray after a pursuit through the trees. Harpy eagle are also endangered humans are there enemy its feet are as big as a mans hand they have good eye sight they also have gray black and Wight fethers harpy eagles mate for life they raise about 2 birds every 2 years



  • harpy Eagles winds eat tree sloths and monkeys and lots of other big animals they also eat other birds sometimes they will have to feed on smaller animals like bunny's that is not a normal diet for them harpy eagles eat big animals because they are big animals harpy eagles have to keep full of energy in order to carry big animals


  • The winds harpy eagle live in tropical forest the harpy eagle does not migrate because the tropical forest are usually warm the birds eat animals in the forest so it does not migrate


  • they winds lay 1 -2 eggs if the second egg does not hatch in less than 58 days the mother will not pay atintion the bird then the egg will not hatch and the bird will die
