Study Protocol Patients and Methods: • Retrospective analysis of data on 11 measurements obtained in 8 mechanically ventilated patients. • Exclusion criteria: • FiO2 > 0,6 • Thoraxdrain, or ventilatory leakage • Renal replacement therapy Aims: Comparison of accuracy in the calculation of daily caloric needs and REE with two devices, the M-COVX and the Quark RMR.

  6. Results cont. • Bland and Altman Analysis • Mean Bias = 243±239 kCal • Lower Limit of Agreement = -236 kCal • Upper Limit of Agreement = 722 kCal • 28,3% Percentage Error

  7. Indirect calorimetrywith M-COVX has a significant correlationwith the Quark RMR, howeverwith the measurementwith the M-COVX shows a systematicoverestimation of 243 kCal of the REE dailycaloricneeds in comparisonwith the Quark RMR. conclusions
