ASEAN Workshop on CRC Implementation Held in 24 – 27 September 2012 at the Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand Host by the Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups (OPP)under Ministry of Human Security and Social Development (MSDHS) THAILAND Supported by the ASEAN-Republic of Korea-Special Cooperation Fund

  3. To enhance the ASEAN + 3 cooperation & capacity • To promote child participation • To strengthen partnership and technical cooperation among ASEAN + 3 member countries in implementing the CRC and the CRC Committee’s Concluding Observations Workshop Objectives

  4. 10 countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam and China • 5 participants from each country • 4 representatives from government and non-government agencies • 1 child representative • ACWC representatives • ASEAN Secretariat representative Workshop participants

Regional Planning Workshop for Child Rights Practitioners on the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Bangkok, Thailand during 28 – 31 July 2013 • To develop an ASEAN Cooperation Workplan on the Implementation of the CRC and its Concluding Observations based on recommendations from the September 2012 Workshop • The Workplan will be presented to SOMSWD Next step
