Sets of Numbers. Natural Numbers. The numbers with which you count. N = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...}. Whole Numbers. The natural numbers and zero. {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...}. Integers. Whole numbers and their opposites or negatives. Z = {..., -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...}.

  5. Rational Numbers • The quotient of any two integers with the exception that dividing by zero is not allowed. ½, .75, 35%, -¾ , -.96, -0.66… (-2/3)

  6. Real Numbers • Any number that can be represented by a decimal or equivalently by a point on a number line . , √2, √11 _ __
