  2. Starting points • Toastmasters who work in CBD; • Review member e-mail addresses to identify companies who already employ toastmasters members; • Cold calls to large companies; • Company inquiries via D73 website/people. 1

  3. Keys to success • Buy infrom as high up in the company as possible; • Planning the demonstration meeting; • Advertising within the company. 2

  4. Meeting with HR / Management • Arrange a one-hour meeting. • Dress appropriately and be on time. • Give a brief introductionof Toastmasters. 3

  5. Meeting with HR / Management • Talk about the benefits to the company. • Include communication, leadership, HPL. • KPI’s in staff development plans. • Talk about the costs to the company. • Give them a kit and go through contents. 4

  6. Meeting with HR / Management • What is needed from the company? • 20 people (2 companies?) • Suitable sized room; • Time for staff to attend; • Management commitmentto the club; • Discuss possible fee structures. 5

  7. Meeting with HR / Management • What is needed from Toastmasters? • Offer to present to staff/ managers. • Offer to build a partnership. • Offer to prepare Agenda for demonstration meeting. 6

  8. Explain Requirements for Charter • Twenty members (17 new members). • Fees paid. • Executive Committee elected (leadership). • Constitution & Addendum adopted. • Charter paperwork completed. 7

  9. Next Steps for Company • Lodge “Application to Organise”TI can then invoice the company for the $USD125 charter fee • Set date, time and venuefor demonstration meeting; • Advertise internally. 8

Next Steps for Toastmasters • Assist with planning demonstration meeting; • Identify mentors and sponsors • Any toastmasters already working for the company are ideal for these roles. • Follow up– send soft copies of “Application to organise” and Charter membership application forms; • Assist with completion of charter paperwork. 9
