  1. 214th HHB FTX Back Brief 17 MAR 10 CPT Henderson 1SG Leopold

  2. TASK: Provide a back brief to the Battery on the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery FTX. PURPOSE: provide detail information, direction and ensure the battery has a well rehearsed plan and guidance on the units on upcoming FTX ENDSTATE: Form a comprehensive and focused training strategy that allows the unit to train to standard.

  3. Mission • HHB 214th will execute battery FTX on 23MAR10-26MAR10 to re- assess unit’s METL and validate training. The training will be conducted to standard in a safe manner IAW AR 385-10.

  4. Commander’s Intent • 214th HHB will establish support plans, reassess training readiness and unit’s METL by safety conducting FTX that will successfully train sections on mission essential task and or collective/individual task to a “trained” level or proficiency • Endstate: Is to identify shortfalls in training, establish standard operating procedures and complete recovery operations with zero safety incidents.

  7. TASKS TO SUBORDINATE SECTIONS • BATTERY TRNG RM/OPERATIONS: SET UP HHB CP AND FM COMMUNICATIONS, PROVIDE ADMIN SUPPORT, CONSOLIDATE REQUIRED REPORTS AND SUBMITT TO HIGHER HEADQUARTERS. TRACK UNIT MOVEMENT AND PROVIDE GUIDANCE TO SUPPORTING PLTS. • UNIT ARMORER: ARMSROOM OPEN 230500MAR10. EVERY SOLDIER WILL SIGN FOR WEAPONS AND BLANK ADAPTERS AND ISSUES AMMO ( 2 MAGAZINES 80 ROUNDS ) • UNIT SUPPLY: ESTABLISH SOPS AND REQUIREDMENTS TO SUPPORT RESUPPLY OF FUEL AND WATER OPERATIONS IN A FIELD ENVIORNMENT. ISSUE CL 1 ON 23 MAR 10. 29-1 ARPL TRACK ALL FIELD LOST AND SHORTAGES WITH H/R HOLDERS.

TASKS TO SUBORDINATE SECTIONS • 1ST & 2ND PLT: ESTABLISH LSA IN TA 47, IDENTIFY CAISALITY COLLECTION POINTS; PROVIDE 24HR PREDIMETER SECURITY, PROVIDE ROTATING RTO DUTY, IDENTIFY CLS WITHIN YOUR PLTS; IDENTIY CREW TEAMS WITHIN YOUR PLT, IDENTIY YOUR AID AND LITER TEAMS, IDENTIFY INTERNAL PLATOON CALL SIGN, SENSTIVE CHECK TWICE A DAY AND O/O EXECUTE CONVOY MOVEMENT. • CONVOY COMMANDER: BATTERY XO WILL PROVIDE DETAIL SAFETY BRIEFING TO SP AND DEPARTURE AND CLOSURE REPORT VIA FM COMS TO HIGHER HEADQUARTERS. • UNIT SUPPLY: ESTABLISH SOPS AND REQUIREDMENTS TO SUPPORT RESUPPLY OF FUEL AND WATER OPERATIONS IN A FIELD ENVIORNMENT. ISSUE CL 1 ON 23 MAR 10. 29-1 ARPL TRACK ALL FIELD LOST AND SHORTAGES WITH H/R HOLDERS.

  9. SERVICE AND SUPPORT • FEMALE SOLDIERS WILL RECEIVE ON LOCKER ROOM SHOWER O/A 25 MAR 10 VIC ND52223557 • CLASS 1: MEAL CYCLE IS AMA; MRE RATIONS CYCLE. SUPPLY WILL DRAW AND DISTRIBUTE CLS 1 SUPPORT UNIT SUPPLY/TSA AND OR SUPPORTING DFAC AS REQUIRED. • CLASS II: OMITTED • CLASS III: SUPPLY WILL REQUEST REQUIRED SUPPORT FROM A/168TH BSB OR FT. SILL FUEL POINT AS APPROPROATE APPLICABLE REGULATIONS • CLASS IV: OMITTED • CLASS V: UNIT ARMORER/AMMO HANDLER WILL DRAW SAMLL ARMS AMMUNITION FOR THE FTX FROM FT SILL ASP AND RETURN UNSED CL V • CLASS VI : SOLDIERS WILL DEPLOY WITH ONE WEEK OR REQUIRED PERSINAL HYGIENE ITEMS AND OTHER SUNDRY REQUIREMENTS. • CLASS VII: OMITTED • CLASS VIII:REPLENISHMENT WILL COME FROM BDE MEDICS SUPPORT • CLASS IX: REPAIR PARTS VERIFIED AND SUPPLIED BY B/168 BSB/HHB MP

  10. SAFETY • The overall risk assessment for this operation is MORDERAT. • Anyone, regardless of rank will, act immediately to stop any dangerous act or safety violation before it is committed. • Safety briefing will be given to all Soldiers prior to training. • IMMEDIATELY REPORT VIOLATIONS OF SAFETY OR INCIDENT RESULTING IN INJURIES TO A SODIER OR DAMAGE TO GOVERNMENT PROPERTY • All Soldiers will have on APPROIATE PPE WHEN OPEARTING OR SETING OF EQUIPMENT • EACH VEHICLE WILL HAVE A STRIP MAP AND 9 LINE MEDEVAC PROCEDURES POSTED.

  11. MEDEVAC PROCEDURES A copy of this will be posted on the inside window of the every vehicle for ease of use along with a 9-line MEDEVAC Request. • OIC/NCOIC orders CEASE FIRE. • OIC supervises RTO calling in MEDEVAC IAW Reg 385-1. • NCOIC ensures all the Soldiers not directly involved are immediately gathered and have a proper head count. • CLS provides immediate triage and provides air or ground transportation recommendation to the OIC. -1st Platoon are litter bearers. • PSG ensures there are no immediate hazards and personnel are in the proper area. • Patient Data. Patient last name and last four should be sent to Range Control so medical records can be on hand at the hospital. • Roadguards - When MEDEVAC is inbound 2nd Platoon will stop all traffic 300 meters from LZ

Leader Brigade Uniform Standard • ACH- Soldiers will sew rank and name on a tape and sew it to the Camouflage Band • Parachutist Helmet-Soldiers will sew on Rank to the Camouflage Cover • Both ACH and Parachutist Helmets-Soldiers will sew on Blood type on the left side and • Battle Roster Number on the Right Side. (Battle roster #’s will be directed from the S1. • All sewing of Names/Battle Roster #s/Blood types will be made on a tape, and the tape • Sew on the band.
