  2. Introduction/Background • Introduction to magnesium, magnesium alloys and disadvantages to using magnesium has been completed • Further information may be added during additional review of technical journal articles.

  3. Methodology • Review of magnesium alloy types.-Completed • Review of coating types and methods.-Still reviewing • Review of industry standards for casting alloys, coating types and coating methods.-Still reviewing • Specific industry applications (automotive, aerospace, fitness – bicycles)-Completed • Using these reviews best combinations of alloys, coating types and methods can be proposed for different applications.-Still developing

  4. Results and Discussion • Results and discussion will be developed from the alloy and coating review that has not been completed. • There are a few more articles that will be very helpful in this discussion.

  5. Conclusion • Results are still being reviewed and there is no further update on conclusion for best alloys and best coatings for specific applications

  6. Resources • Still waiting on 4 articles from requests to the Cole Library after the electronic village search. • Articles have had a quick turnaround and will be included in Progress Report 2.
