  1. Presented by Group: DIU TIGERS’ 101-25-145 Mohammad Zonaid (Team Leader) 101-25-146 Masud Parvez 101-25-148 Md. Rezwanul Reaz 101-25-147 Sumon Miah Why like Moodle platform?

  2. SWOT analysis of team • Strength • Team has a member who has experience in real life project. • Weakness • All members are not expert in any platform. • Opportunity • Team has previous experience in doing project together. • Threat • This is a new platform for each of the members.

  3. Claroline Claroline is an Open Source eLearning and eWorking platform allowing teachers to build effective online courses and to manage learning and collaborative activities on the web. Translated into 35 languages, Claroline has a large worldwide users’ and developers’ community. Advantage of Claroline : Write a course description Publish documents in any format (text, PDF, HTML, video...) Administer public and private forums Develop learning paths Create groups of students Prepare online exercises Manage an agenda with tasks and deadlines Publish announcements (also by e-mail) Propose assignments to be handed in online See the statistics of the users activity Use the wiki to write collaborative documents.

  4. Moodle • Moodle (abbreviation for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) is a free and open-source e-learning software platform, also known as a Course Management System, Learning Management System, or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). • Features of Moodle • Moodle is very flexible. Moodle is very similar to a learning management system, but it has many more standard features. • Moodle's infrastructure supports many types of plug-ins: • activities (including word and math games). • resource types. • question types (multiple choice, true and false, fill in the blank, etc). • data field types (for the database activity) • graphical themes.

  5. WebCT • WebCT (Course Tools),now owned by Blackboard, is an online proprietary virtual learning environment system that is sold to colleges and other institutions and used in many campuses for e-learning. • Disadvantages of WebCT: • WebCT has been criticized as being difficult to use, this criticism partly reflected the flexibility of the system. • Where other systems present a single way of organizing or adding course material, WebCT offered several options with more of the structure left to the individual instructor. • It suffers from being more flexible but less easy to use than some of its competitors.

  6. Blackboard • The Blackboard Learning System is a Web-based server software platform. • The Blackboard Learning System is the heart of the Networked Learning Environment (NLE) and it enables instructors to create and manage course matter, employ publisher content, communicate with students, and evaluate performance. • Disadvantages of Blackboard: • Blackboard LearningSystem, may start low but as subscribers integrate more functions into Blackboard, subscriptionlicenses may be $200,000 to $400,000-a-year.[4] • The Blackboard computer system that allows students to turn work in, take tests and do group projects electronically has been so bogged down at Florida State University.[5] 4.http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/extracredit/2008/04/18/blackboard-blackout/

  7. Conclusion • Out of above discussions we would say Moodle is best for our purpose since it is more flexible and easy to learn as well as free.
