  2. Cockpit Design Considerations: To protect two (2) occupants from a high-speed blow over, snap rolls, submarining, impacts from competitor’s boat(s) and floating or fixed objects. The complete cockpit assembly may be bolted into a new or retrofitted Catamaran or Mono Hull boat. Presentation by Tiger PerformanceDrawings by Tom Stanley

  3. Composite Cockpit Shell: Heavy-duty 1” high-density balsa core reinforced with pre preg oven cure Kevlar and carbon fiber composite construction. All portions of the shell other than where the Lavin canopy is installed include 1” high-density balsa core material. This one-piece design includes front and rear bulkheads and water deflection anti crush contours. • Lavin Canopy: • 3/4” Polycarbonate, manufactured by Texstar, Inc., built to F-16 canopy Mil-Spec standards and designed to withstand a 4 lb. bird strike at 550 knots.   4. Chrome Molly Roll Cage: Constructed of welded chrome molly round and square tubing to similar standards utilized in NASCAR and NHRA automobile racing. Cockpit Ventilation: (not shown) Two (2) air inlet and two (2) air outlet ambient air devices are included, which automatically close off watertight upon water submersion or roll over. • Cockpit flood valves: (not shown) Two (2) cockpit flooding valves are included. One valve is to be in reach of each person while seated. These valves enable the occupants to intentionally flood the cockpit to equalize the water pressure to be able to open the cockpit hatch for escape.   6. Cockpit Overhead Hatch: Includes a reinforced double lip design with a 3/4” outer polycarbonate layer cut from the Lavin canopy and a bonded composite Kevlar and carbon fiber inner shell. The latch consists of a positive locking multi-point lever operated mechanism that can be latched or unlatched from the inside or the outside. Canopy Installation: Canopy is vacuum bagged and chemically welded onto the cockpit shell with Sikaflex bonding adhesive, no thru bolt fasteners are used. • Cockpit Installation: The boat deck cockpit opening is to be prepared to the template size of the bolt-in cockpit. The bottom edges of the cockpit composite shell may be trimmed so the deck of the boat is even with the deck line of the cockpit. The bottom cross members of the cockpit roll cage shall be cut to length and welded once the installed depth of the cockpit is determined. The cockpit shell bolts onto four (4) heavy gauge aluminum angles to the front and rear bulkheads and chrome molly roll-cage tubing with aluminum backer plates. The aluminum angles are to be thru bolted to the Catamaran tunnel sidewalls or Mono Hull stringers with aluminum backer plates. Presentation by Tiger PerformanceDrawings by Tom Stanley

  8. The cockpit shell bolts onto four (4) heavy gauge aluminum angles to the front and rear bulkheads and chrome molly roll-cage tubing with aluminum backer plates. The aluminum angles are to be thru bolted to the Catamaran tunnel sidewalls or Monohull stringers with aluminum backer plates. • Fasteners include 316 stainless steel hex bolts, nylock nuts and fender washers. • Upon installation the cockpit composite structure shall be sealed to the composite hull structure with composite materials and epoxy resin to enable the cockpit to be watertight. The deck seam may be caulked or finished with a composite flange. A composite rear fairing may be constructed to style the rear of the cockpit assembly to the hull.   9. Bottom Escape Hatch: Constructed of billet machined aluminum and Includes a positive locking multi-point lever operated mechanism that can be latched or unlatched from inside or outside. The hinge is a continuous stainless steel piano hinge fastened thru the aluminum inside door frame. The hatch also includes a large 1/2” (12mm) thick polycarbonate window. High quality powder-coated finish, choose your color combination; yellow hatch with orange handle, red hatch with yellow handle, and other colors are available upon request. • Machined billet aluminum construction for lightweight, high strength and rigidity. • Heavy duty stainless steel piano hinge and fasteners supplied. Including stainless steel acorn nuts used in cockpit, which prevents skin abrasions. • Easily retrofitted into existing hull construction. • Lightweight billet aluminum construction. • Positive latching mechanism. • 3 Outer frame mounting options. • The 3/8” wide, raised door seal is captured in a recessed groove to provide positive sealing. • 3 Stainless steel 1/2” latch pins for positive latching and sealing on all sides.
