  2. Introduction • Learning a foreign language is often arduous, especially when it is not a Latin based language like Chinese. To combat these frustrations, a number of different creative activities can be used to help better understand a language in a more stimulating context. • Most of these activates have a distinctive visual element

  3. Jeopardy! • The first of these activities is a variation on the decades old game-show Jeopardy! • Students pick categories and are asked questions in Chinese. They must answer the question with an appropriate response pertaining the question

  6. Other Activities • Other activities include Pictionary (which is pictured on the next slide) • Several other activities are practiced in class to stimulate learning. These games often involve group work (interviewing each other) and the use of note/flash cards

  8. Conclusion • Through the use of different games and hands on activities, learning a foreign language can come more easily and more naturally.
