  1. Well Log Digitizing in the Sri Lanka Sector of the Cauvery Basin • Calderdale Geoscience Limited, a Geoscience Consultancy established in 2004, in association with Consultant Reservoir Engineer AJ Jayasekera, have been authorized by PRDS Sri Lanka to digitize the wireline logs acquired in the 4 wells drilled in Palk Strait, Palk Bay, Gulf of Mannar areas - Pedro1, Delft1, Palk Bay1, Pearl1 (see map to right) – and to market the product. The wells were drilled the 1970s and 1980s and to date have been available in original hardcopy at PRDS and as scanned images of variable quality. • Technical work completed: • All the logging runs for density, neutron porosity, and resistivity, amounting to a total logged footage of c. 60,000ft, have been digitized. Pedro1 Delft1 Palk Bay1 Pearl1 Digitizing Example 1: Typical section in the resistivity log from Delft 1 To left: Typical scanned image of resistivity log showing, GR, SP, CALI, LLD, LLS, and MSFL traces shown in greyscale. Digitising these lines can be difficult using traditional digitising techniques. To right: Typical scanned image of resistivity log showing, GR, SP, CALI, LLD, LLS, and MSFL traces with digitized traces superposed in colour. Line following digitizing technology has produced a faithful representation of these original traces.
