  5. Who delivers? IL Librarian Faculty Writing Center

  6. Who is served? • Students • Improve their writing • Understand and practice he various methods of communication • Avoid plagiarism • Understand the importance of appropriate research and writing conventions • Faculty • Become more aware of methods of writing and research in their own discipline • Receive help from librarian in teaching those methods to students • Collaborate with each other in their own discipline or across disciplines • Receive credit for teaching development Learning

  7. Faculty Responsibilities in the Program Work with library staff to clarify information literacy Require more writing Participate and present in workshops Define for themselves the goals of writing in their classes Teach the conventions in the discipline

IL Librarian responsibilities • Teach • Information Literacy • General methods of research (innovations for more fun and memorable tutorials) • Customized discipline specific research methods • Tutorials on plagiarism Conduct Surveys of writing for all courses and disciplines Work closely with faculty to devise suitable methods of delivery

  9. Writing Center Tutors conduct tutorials (individual and group) according to parameters set by professors and IL librarian Tutors conduct workshops for students Long night against procrastination (in the Panitza library, co-organized with library staff)
