About CIIT • COMSATS Institute of Information Technology started its journey in 1998. • It established its first campus at Islamabad in April 1998. • In August 2000, in recognition of CIIT achievements, the federal government granted it status of a degree awarding institute (DAI) through promulgation of its charter. • Its main campus in Islamabad and beside this, six more campus are at Lahore, Abbotabad, Wah, Attock, Sahiwal, and Vahari. • The CIIT is now slated for up gradation as a university by the name of ‘COMSATS University’ through an Act of the Parliament.

Vision • COMSATS believe in developing its students as a person and professional through rigorous training, careful personality development and extensive industrial exposure. • Our participants can work according to the industrial standards, beyond the speed of technological change, yet be mindful of the ethical and cultural ideals.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS • The quota of disabled person for appointment such be such as prescribed from time to time • Appointment to all post shall be made by initial recruitment on the basis of merit and fitness after due publicity in the national press ,, urgent requirement of the institute with the approval of competent authority

  8. Appointment may also fixed or approved from time to time • External • Advertising in the mass media • Recruitment through the internet • INTERNAL RECRUITMENT • Employment record of applicant available • Little or no cost involved • Employees’ morale and motivation increased

  9. SELECTION PROCESS • The process of choosing the most suitable applicant from a group of applicants, for an available vacancy • Collect information of applicants • Applicants form and CV • Selection tests • Each applicant will be assessed • Selection interviews

  12. Compensation & benefits • Pay grades of employee • Officer grade (OG) • OG 1 (5000 – 2000 -65000) • OG 2 (12000 –3000 -92000) • OG 3 ( 16000 – 4000-120000) • OG4 (20000 – 5000-150000)

  14. Staff grades • SG 1 (1500 – 100 – 5500 ) • SG 2 (2000 – 150 – 8000 ) • SG 3 (3000 – 200 – 11000 ) • SG 4 (4000 – 250 – 14000 )

  15. Allowances • House rent allowance 70% • Conveyance allowance 10% • Compensatory allowance 30% • Utility allowance 10% • Time to time additional allowance ie dearness allowance ‘

  16. Other benefits • The competent authority may also give to officiate two or more independent post at a time for 6 month , extendable for next 6 month • Medical aid • Leave

  17. Probation • Probation in the case of initial appointment to a regular post in the institutive services shall be a period of one year or extendable for 1 year • Confirmation • Employee shall be confirmed after two year continuous services

  18. Prohibition against private trade • Consultancy charges • Transfer • Increments in relevant pay grade • Seniority • The date of joining and on merit basis

  19. Resignation from services • Less then 2 years services one month notices • Two years and more service 3 month notices

  20. Superannuation or retirement • He attain the age of 60 years • After completion of 25 years of services • In case of agreement to serve the institute • Medical unfit for institute services • The age shall be determined on matriculation or CNIC

  21. Re employment after superannuation • An employee who is physically and mentally fit may be re employed in the interest of institute services • At least 5 research publication in the past 5 years with at least 3 research in the last 2 years in internationally recognized journal

  22. Has produced at least at least 2 Ph.D or one Ph.D and three Ms in in the last 5 years • Is currently supervising at least 2 Ph.D student or one Ph.D and 3 Ms student • Has developed an active research group • Other universities faculty considered as advisors or consultants

  23. Addition and alternation to the schedule • Create a new post or re designate an existing post make other addition in the schedule

  24. Minimum qualification and experience for appointment various post in officer grades
