Siena e la Vergine nel medioevo Dr Michele Luigi VescoviLecturer, Dept. History of Art, University of York The city of Siena is also called “The city of the Virgin." The lecture will explore the Marian imagery of the city and its value for the citizens of Siena, and will illustrate the multi-layered functions of religious images in Medieval Italy. Italian Language Workshop: Parlare d’Arte The language workshop will continue on the theme of L’arte seneseillustrated by the introductory lecture and will have the audience’s active participation. It will run at two levels of Italian language proficiency: Upper intermediate / Advanced and Beginners / Intermediate level.
