Revolutions. “Q” What is Revolution?. A Revolution is a complete change that occurs. The change must be lasting!!!!! The change can be Political, Social, and or Economic.

  1. Revolutions “Q” What is Revolution?

  2. A Revolution is a complete change that occurs. The change must be lasting!!!!! • The change can be Political, Social, and or Economic. • This change does not have to be violent, although some Revolution’s are. Any one with the name of a country in it was violent. • Not all change is positive, although some Revolutions were. • There have been many revolutions throughout the course of history, which have drastically altered the way in which society functions.

All revolutions have several things in common. • 1. the old system was not working. • 2. people found what they thought were “better” or “easier” ways to do things. • 3. it changed how people lived • 4. peoples needs were no longer being satisfied, the government was no longer meeting the needs of the people

  4. Successful revolutions do not need the support of a majority of the people. In fact, most succeeded with only a minority of the people calling for the change. • Have you ever heard the expression, “Silent Majority”, or “Vocal Minority”? • Most of the revolutions did not produce the outcomes that were promised; in fact only a minority have. • This is especially true in Political Revolutions, people are told that changes will occur which will improve life. Many times it doesn’t work out that way.
