  2. Muntii Stancosi este denumirea romaneasca a lantului Rocky Mountains, masiv in forma de semiluna care si intinde de-a lungul coastei vestice a continentului american

  3. Lacul Jackson, situat in Parcul National Grand Teton, ofera o priveliste de basm.Cea mai numeroasa turma de elai Wapiti din America gaseste adapost pe timp de iarna, in aceste locuri.

  4. InCanada au fost deschise 2 mari parcuri nationale:Banff,in sud si Jasper,in nord. Dar cel mai vizitat se afla in SUA: Yellowstone National Park, cu celebrul sau gheizer Old Faithfull.

  5. “Alpii Lumii Noi” sunt compusi din 53 de varfuri de peste 4000 de m in SUA si din 144 de varfuri de peste 3000 de m in Canada.

  6. In inima Muntilor Stancosi, de la raul Columbia pana le Oregon si de la Marele Bazin pana in Colorado, se intind podisuri ce ascund importante bogatii naturale.

  7. Cele mai inalte varfuri: Elbert:4.399m , Robson:3.954mLungime: aprox. 3.000 kmPodisul Colorado: 1.500-3.000 m inaltimeMarele Lac Sarat:2.700-5.900km2Valea Mortii:o depresiune ce atinge o adancime de 94 de metri sub nivelul marii.

Baraje principale:Grand Colee si Bonneville pe raul Columbia, Hoover Dam pe raul Colorado. • Cele mai mari orase:Vancouver (Canada), Seattle, Portland, Butte, Spokane, Salt Lake City. • Cele mai lungi rauri:Colorado,Columbia • Vulcan:St. Helen(a erupt ultima data in 1980, dupa 350 de ani de inactivitate).
