  9. Little News Item… Jerusalem Post  While tensions continue to simmer around the Temple Mount after riots in and around the capital’s Old City earlier this month, a new campaign calling for the construction of the Third Temple atop the holy site has made its way to the sides of 200 Egged buses in the city, which now sport posters featuring a picture of a rebuilt temple on the Mount, and nothing else. The posters, which contain the phrase, “May the BaisHamikdosh be rebuilt speedily and within our days,” were sponsored by the Our Land of Israel group, which is led by Rabbi Shalom DovVolpo and activist Baruch Marzel, leave out the site’s current structures – namely the theAksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. The campaign’s organizers chose to plaster the posters on buses whose routes take them through predominately Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem. With regards to the campaign, Volpo said Israel is waiting breathlessly for the coming of the messiah and the rebuilding of the temple.

  10. Letters from Prophets What they focus on tells us a lot about their audience. For Instance: Moroni 7- Audience/Topic Moroni 8- Audience/Topic 1&2 Corinthians- Audience? Ephesians- 1: 1-5

  11. Roll up your sleeves…Alma 13 And again, my brethren, I would cite your minds forward to the time when the Lord God gave these commandments unto his children; and I would that ye should remember that the Lord God ordained priests, after his holy order, which was after the order of his Son, to teach these things unto the people. And those priests were ordained after the order of his Son, in a manner that thereby the people might know in what manner to look forward to his Son for redemption. And this is the manner after which they were ordained being called and prepared from the foundation of the world according to the foreknowledge of God, on account of their exceeding faith and good works; in the first place being left to choose good or evil; therefore they having chosen good, and exercising exceedingly great faith, are called with a holy calling, yea, with that holy calling which was prepared with, and according to, a preparatory redemption for such. Question: What is a ‘preparatory redemption’?

  12. Alma 13 Continued…  And thus they have been called to this holy calling on account of their faith, while others would reject the Spirit of God on account of the hardness of their hearts and blindness of their minds, while, if it had not been for this they might have had as great privilege as their brethren.

  13. Neal A. Maxwell ...When we mortals try to comprehend, rather than merely accept, foreordination, the result is one in which finite minds futilely try to comprehend omniscience. A full understanding is impossible; we simply have to trust in what the Lord has told us, knowing enough, however, to realize that we are not dealing with guarantees from God but extra opportunities-and heavier responsibilities. If those responsibilities are in some ways linked to past performance or to past capabilities, it should not surprise us. Neal A. Maxwell, "Meeting the Challenges of Today," Speeches of the Year (Provo, Utah: Brigham Young University, 1978), pp. 152, 154.

  14. Therefore, what is our task? Ephesians 6:11,12

  15. Then God said to Joshua the son of Nun, "Why do you mourn and why do you hope in vain that Moses yet lives? . . . Take his garments of wisdom and clothe yourself, and with his belt of knowledge gird your loins, and you will be changed and become another man. . . . And Joshua took the garments of wisdom and clothed himself and girded his loins with the belt of understanding. And when he clothed himself with it, his mind was afire and his spirit was moved. 5 5 1 2 3 2 2 6 4 1 1 5 4 Harold B. Lee The righteous man, although far superior to his fellows who are not, is humble and does not parade his righteousness to be seen of men but conceals his virtues as he would modestly conceal his nudity. The righteous man strives for self-improvement knowing that he has daily need of repentance for his misdeeds or his neglect. He is not so much concerned about what he can get but more about how much he can give to others, knowing that along that course only can he find true happiness. … The breastplate of righteousness has given him "the strength of ten—because his heart is clean. 6 3 3

  16. Finally… Ephesians 2 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should in them.
