Pre-Reading Strategies: • Goal: Getting Students to be engaged with the text before reading it. • Listening: Listen to your classmates’ headlines and identify what parts of it caused you to want to read their article. • Reading: Read each other’s newspaper articles. • Writing: Write a News Headline and article that will cause others to be compelled to read it. • Speaking: Students will share their headlines with the class and discuss how their headlines related to the actual plot line when the reading is completed.
