  4. Why does so much of our food come from abroad? • Climate • Cost • We want availability all year round. Food out of season is more expensive for example strawberries in December will cost more than in July.

  5. Research and explain the following terms • Carbon Footprint • Organic • Fair Trade • Food Miles

Explain the following terms • Carbon Footprint – the emissions a product makes [food miles]. • Organic – foods that have been grown or reared without chemicals. • Fair Trade – means that the farmers gets a fair price for their product. • Food Miles – the distance a product travels from harvesting to the supermarket.
