  2. Why Sin Is Such A Serious Issue • It is a deadly enemy Rom 6:23 Eph 2:1 • It is the goal of Satan • Achieved through lies, deceit, temptation Gen 2:16-17 3:1-6 1 Tim 2:14 • He even tries to use Divine truth to deceive and tempt Mt 4:6 Rom 7:7-11

  4. What Sin Ruins In “Disgrace” • Because sin is serious, we need to see the damage it leaves behind • Easy to see when one examines the first time sin appeared Gen 3

  5. What Sin Ruins In “Disgrace” • Sin ruins (adversely affects)… Gen 3 • My relationship with myself vv. 7-10 • Shame now replaces innocence Gen 2:25 • Guilt drives one to hide from God (Impossible to do Heb 4:13) • Fear causes one to act in such a way

  13. Conclusion • As “disgraceful” as sinners & their conduct can be, they can still be cleansed by God Eph 1:7 1 Jn 1:7 • Sin must be seen as the “biggest disgrace” • Not sinning, or correcting my sin resolves issues re: self, others…my God
