    6. Findings house painter ? 19 experts from 6 countries, partner questionnaire for 2 countries ? Much agreement amongst experts: tasks are very similar across countries ? DE and NL: occupation comprises several specialisations ? Competencies concerning communicating, instructing and cooperating are especially important in DE, NL and PL

Findings roofer ? 17 experts from 6 countries, partner questionnaire for 1 country much agreement amongst experts: tasks are very similar across countries ‘prepare drawings & specifications of the roof’ is only a task in SP, FR, DE, PL, this task never occurs in BE, NL, UK ? entry level ISCED 1 in the UK, ISCED 3 in other countries ? competencies concerning applying know-how/professional expertise and following instructions are important in all countries

Findings tile setter ? 14 experts from 6 countries, partner questionnaire for 2 countries much agreement amongst experts: tasks are very similar across countries specialised tiling work and repairs and renovation occurs more frequently in SP, DE again: lower educational entry level in the UK compared to the other countries (ISCED 1 in the UK)

Findings civil engineering technician ? 16 experts from 7 countries, partner questionnaire for 2 countries frequency of tasks differs substantially within and between countries confusion about this occupation: what occupation is meant? Occupational boundaries are not clear for civil engineering technician, civil engineer and architect it should be investigated what the correct occupational titles in this field of work are and what task descriptions are appropriate for these occupations

    10. Findings first line supervisor ? 17 experts from 8 countries, partner questionnaire for 2 countries much agreement amongst experts: tasks are very similar across countries, except frequency of budget preparing and computing costs some variation in importance of certain competencies

    11. Conclusions ? In general, the EurOccupations task descriptions of the key occupations in the cluster ‘construction & cars’ are recognised by the experts in all countries (minor variations in task lists between countries) ? Only for a limited number of countries (usually 4 or 5 countries per occupation), data is available about the minimum required educational entry level ? Educational entry levels vary across countries quite often. In the UK, the educational entry levels are relatively low compared to other countries ? Additional formal or legal requirements for key occupations in construction and cars are more frequent in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland
